Pop-Up Dinner With Apis Restaurant + Apiary
(Tickets on sale April 18th)
Dinner features locally-sourced, globally-inspired dishes grounded in classic techniques and featuring ingredients fresh from water, farm and range—all complemented by Apis' house honey. A portion of the proceeds benefits the Sustainable Food Center's new Teaching Apiary. Details and ticket information will be posted at artsciencegallery.com and in a forthcoming press release.

Every second Saturday of the month, The Contemporary Austin offers hands-on art-making workshops at Laguna Gloria, inspired by the exhibitions on view. Join us between 11am–3pm to see family-friendly performances, meet local artists, and make art to take home.
Recommended for ages 2–11.
$5 member families // $10 non-member families.

Demonstrations of encaustic basics and techniques such as painting with wax and adding collage materials, mixed media and transfers, combining wax with pan pastels and pigment sticks, building texture and working smooth.

The Contemporary Austin

Eames Short Films
Jones Center Roof Deck
Wednesday, May 20, and Thursday, May 21
Most commonly known as mid-century furniture designers, Charles and Ray Eames produced 125 short films in 28 years. In reference to their film work, Charles once commented that, "They are not really films at all, just ways to get across an idea." Join Lucia Dewey Atwood, Eames House preservationist, and Llisa Demetrios, Eames Foundation archivist, as they share family insights on the design work of Charles and Ray and introduce a selection of brilliant Eames short films rarely seen on the big screen.
Roof opens at 7 pm, Film at 8:30 pm
