| Visual Arts Center - UT Mqy 11, 8-10 pm The Arcade Sound + Vision: DOOM Harnessing the sensory prowess of Sound + Vision, Scott Gelber culls together shamanistic and spiritual imagery with the oppressive and ridiculous tropes of consumer culture. Like a druid on a jet ski, the Austin-based video artist and animator will consecrate video altars, multi-media performance, imparting important knowledge and attempting to reconcile the guarantees of the spiritual with a reality overwhelmed by perpetual doomscapes of enveloping parking lots; amalgamations of Revelation and Sky Mall. |
